Over 1.4 million people affected by Hurricane Matthew are still in need of assistance.

Since 4th October, when Hurricane Matthew hit Haiti, our team have been on the ground working hard to deliver emergency relief to those in need and to assess how best to help rebuild. Thank you for your response to our appeal for help - we have received over £7,000 - but there is still so much to do.

Firstly, we are asking you to pray.

PRAY FOR THE CHILDREN OF HAITI
Even before Hurricane Matthew, poor children in Haiti were at risk of being trafficked. The effects of the storm have exacerbated those risks by separating children from their families and making them even more vulnerable. By God's grace, all of our sponsored children in the communities that were hit are safe and accounted for.

PRAY FOR ACCESS TO AFFECTED AREAS
Our teams are working hard to assess the damage in many areas. Flooding and landslides have blocked roads making it difficult to access communities in need.

PRAY FOR FAMILIES & COMMUNITIES
The devastation to homes, livestock and especially crops is catastrophic. The UN-OCHA is estimating that 80% of the agricultural crop for the entire country has been destroyed.

PRAY FOR HEALTH
The threat of a cholera outbreak is being realised. We have heard of 129 suspected carriers being hospitaised. This is an awful disease and will increase the death toll exponentially if it continues.

Secondly, we are asking again that you consider giving a donation online today. Thanks to the donations already received we are making good progress - but the need is huge and time is of the essence to help save lives.
